Founded in 1925 by David Tennant, The Gargoyle Club brought together artists and patrons in Soho during the interwar period. Figures such as Cecil Beaton, Lee Miller, and Margot Fonteyn were closely associated with the club. Henri Matisse, an honorary member, advised on the design of the ballroom’s mirrored interior.
