Begun in the eighteenth century but never completed, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni found new life through three formidable women. Marchesa Luisa Casati entertained Man Ray and the Ballets Russes; Doris Castlerosse welcomed Cecil Beaton and Douglas Fairbanks; and Peggy Guggenheim made it her home, housing a collection spanning Picasso, Duchamp, Dalí and Pollock.
