After the closure of Café Griensteidl, Café Central became the meeting place of Vienna’s intellectual life. Figures such as Sigmund Freud, Adolf Loos, Oskar Kokoschka, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and Robert Musil gathered here during the fin-de-siècle period.
